SARBANES OXLEY ACT
Sarbanes-Oxley is the name of a group of federal securities laws that require detailed disclosures of financial information by publicly traded U.S. companies.

This law has very strong anti-retaliation provisions if you provide information regarding conduct that you believe constitutes a violation of federal securities fraud statutes or SEC rules. Claims under Sarbanes Oxley are also time-sensitive so you must contact an attorney if you believe you have been subjected to adverse action as a result of your reporting illegal conduct.
